American Camellia Society at Massee Lane Gardens – Fort Valley, GA

The American Camellia Society is a national membership organization dedicated to fostering appreciation for and knowledge of plants of the genus Camellia. Founded in 1945, the Society is now headquartered at Massee Lane Gardens near Fort Valley in central Georgia.

Massee Lane Gardens has nine acres of camellia plantings and several specialty gardens and collections. The gardens are enhanced by the placement of 39 milestones from corn grinding mills in the middle Georgia area as well as pierced brick walls of 1760-90 brick used as ballast on ships coming from England into the port of Charleston.  Also, a particularly fine collection of Boehm porcelain is on display for the thousands of visitors from the USA and abroad.
