Lake Lanier Islands Resort

Lake Lanier Islands is a lakeside resort that offers year-round fun for the whole family. Less than an hour's drive from downtown Atlanta, the 1,100-acre Lake Lanier Islands Resort attracts almost eight million visitors a year to Georgia's Lake Sidney Lanier. The "centerpiece" of Lake Lanier is the Emerald Pointe Resort & Conference Center, which offers 216 guest rooms, each with a private balcony or patio. Among the amenities at the Emerald Pointe Resort & Conference Center are high-speed Internet access, a fitness center, spa, walking trails, outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts. The Emerald Pointe Resort & Conference Center also offers 21,000 square feet of meeting space — making Lake Lanier Islands Resort an excellent choice for a business meeting, seminar, retreat or reception. Other accommodations at Lake Lanier include two-bedroom houses along the lake, houseboats that can sleep as many as 10 people, and campgrounds for RVs and tents.

Recreational activities at Lake Lanier Islands are plentiful. The Emerald Pointe Golf Club features a par-72, 18-hole championship golf course designed by Joe Lee as well as a golf shop, PGA lessons and a grill. A seasonal beach and waterpark at Lake Lanier Islands Resort invites visitors to enjoy water rides and slides, the largest wave pool in Georgia, and such water attractions as the FunDunker. The Harbor Landing at Lake Lanier can furnish a variety of rental boats, ranging from ski boats and pontoon boats to yachts equipped to host private parties. Fishing and skiing equipment are also available. Lake Lanier's Equestrian Center offers 45-minute trail rides, pony rides for youngsters under age seven, and English or western horseback riding lessons.

From mid-November through the end of December, the Lake Lanier Islands Resort presents its annual holiday extravaganza, the Magical Nights of Lights. Said to be the largest animated light display in the world, the Magical Nights of Lights showcases one million holiday lights throughout a six-and-a-half-mile driving tour. Lake Lanier Islands also hosts Santa's Workshop & Holiday Village during the Yuletide season.
